Romney Railroad Days

Saturday, September 17 & Sunday, September 18

Join Us for this year's Romney Railroad Days!

Shuttle Trains run on Both Days at 10 AM, Noon, 2 PM, and 4 PM

Train will travel north towards Green Spring

Tickets: $10 Adults • $5 Child

Regular 3-1/2 Hour Trough Excursions at 1 PM Saturday

  • FREE Night Photo Session - Saturday Night, Sept 17

  • Hosted by J. Alex Lang & Potomac Eagle Scenic. Bring your camera, sturdy tripod, and a cable release. Alex and his cohorts will provide strobe lighting for a variety of poses. Locomotives TBD.

  • Miniature Live Steam Train at Station - Free Rides

  • Stationary Boiler & Steam Whistle Blow


All-Day Trips

Depart 9:00 A.M. – Romney, WV
April 30, November 5, November 6*

All-Day Trains depart from Romney at 9:00 AM and travel south through the Trough to Moorefield & Petersburg. The trains will then return to Romney at approximately 5:00 PM. Photo opportunities are planned along with a mid-day rest stop in Petersburg. * Nov 6 trip is Romney to Green Spring, then the Trough, back to Romney.

Loy Foundation Special Trains

These special trips may feature live music, or murder mysteries, wine tasting, and more. Ticket fare of $75 per passenger will benefit the Loy Foundation, which operates The Bottling Works, and ongoing projects for the community. This is a great opportunity to gather a group of friends for something different and fun! These special trains will will accommodate a limited number of passengers and reservations will be sold on first-come, first-served basis.

Sat September 24:

  • 1:00 PM - Depart Romney, WV

  • 6:30 PM Dinner Train - Moorefield, WV


Sun September 25, 1:30 PM - Depart Moorefield, WV

Trips run in conjunction with Hardy County Arts & Crafts Association's Heritage Days.

October Fall Foliage Trips

Depart Romney, WV

Weekdays (October 1 - 30): Regular 3-hour trips daily from Romney feature fall foliage in the Trough. Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM departure.

Weekends: Regular 3-hour trips daily from Romney feature fall foliage in the Trough. Check the Calendar for specific times.

Please Note: First Class Club Car tickets are $90 for the month of October, and include a full meal.

Photo Special - Saturday, November 12

Depart Romney, WV, 9:00 AM

The photo special will depart Romney for an all-day trip. Itinerary TBD. Train should return between 5:00 and 6:00 PM. Several photo stops will take place, weather permitting.
